Resumo: A method for codebook design with the purpose of reducing the computational complexity of the encoding phase of vector quantization (VQ) has been proposed in a recent work. The method consists of an efficient use of a symmetry observed in certain signals. This paper shows that an additional reduction of the computational complexity is obtained when the partial distance search algorithm is incorporated to the previously proposed method for the VQ encoding phase.
