Título: Reconhecimento de Imagens usando Redes Neurais ou Reflexões sobre a Importância da Filtragem de dados para Reconhecimento de Imagens

Resumo: This work presents a comparative study using different neural data models applied to image recognition. We conduct this study using the oil reservoir identification domain. The task consisted of identifying fossils embedded in rock thin sections using a database of scanned images. Our study has shown the impact of image preprocessing (image filtering) in the quality of the recognition task. The use of a sub symbolical model was derived from the user’s difficulties identifying the domain taxonomy.
