Título: Quantização Vetorial Robusta Utilizando Simulated Annealing

Resumo: The present paper is concerned with the application of simulated annealing (SA) to robust vector quantizer design, that is, SA is used to provide a suitable index assignmet to the reconstruction vectors of a vector quantization codebook, as an attempt to reduce the effects of channel errors. Simulation results regarding image transmission over a binary symmetric channel show that an image quality improvement is obtained by using SA indexing.
