Resumo: This work presents the application of clustering techniques in the load curve characterization studies. The methodology is commonly used by the major utilities in Brazil with the purpose of identifying consumer demand profiles. The results obtained by different clustering techniques (cluster analysis, neural networks and fuzzy logic), applied on a sample of load curves of low voltage consumers, are presented and compared.
