Resumo: The end-milling process is destined to pocketing and slotting operations in mechanical parts. The slotting process is one of the most common process in the mould manufacturing and it presents a highly nolinear behaviour. The application of the features extraction algorithms shows efficiency in the monitoring of tool wear. Using Artificial Neural Nets (ANN) configurations of monitoring system are determined to identify tool wear efficiently. The ANN chosen is the multilayer perceptron and the backpropagation algorithm is used as a learning method.
